The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has commenced a four day capacity building workshop on basic computer hardware and software for 75 participants across the state.

The training, holding at the Government Girls Arabic Secondary School (GGASS), Gusau, drew 50 ICT teachers and 25 Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Education Management Information System (EMIS) desk officers, and state ICT officers.

Declaring the training open, the executive chairman of ZSUBEB, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, described the training as timely and critical in view of the growing importance of technology in teaching, learning, education administration, data management and reporting.

Prof. Anka said teachers and education administrators must acquire basic computer skills to remain relevant and effective in the digital age.

According to him, the training is structured into two major components, hardware and software.

The training is expected to end on 11th October, 2026.
