Netanyahu rejects Trump Gaza plan, says Israel won’t withdraw until Hamas disarms

Israel is rejecting the U.S.-backed “Board of Peace” Gaza “Peace Plan,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced earlier today, assuring that Israeli forces would not leave the territory until Hamas is fully disarmed.

Netanyahu and other ministers have repeated versions of this statement throughout the last week, but today Bibi formally disputed the claims that his government had signed on to the proposal. Speaking at the start of a weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said Israel “rejects the 15-point document,” as the Board of Peace presses ahead with a plan it says Hamas has accepted.

Israeli officials argue Hamas is using the diplomatic track to block renewed Israeli military action and to avoid being stripped of its weapons and control in the enclave.

Netanyahu said Israel’s security leadership has discussed the idea of an international stabilization force entering Gaza to disarm Hamas and take responsibility for the territory, but he drew a red line on withdrawals.

“The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed,” Netanyahu stated, adding he means “all weapons” and “genuine disarmament.”

He said Israel is raising its objections with Washington, and reiterated that he will not accept a Palestinian state in Gaza or the West Bank.

Netanyahu said in a video posted on social media days ago that the Trump administration “sent us a draft. We did not agree. It is not our draft. We sent our comments. … This is our position,” reiterating his stance that disarmament should come first.

Today, Netanyahu reiterated at his cabinet meeting, “I heard people saying, ‘You didn’t say so,’” says Netanyahu. “So here I am saying it again: Israel rejects the 15-point document.”

“The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed. And when I say Hamas must be disarmed, I mean the heavy weapons, the less-heavy weapons, all weapons. And we are talking about genuine disarmament, not a fictitious one,” he added.

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu added, “They have ideas; some of them are acceptable to us and some are not acceptable to us, and we know how to stand up to these things. We have proven this in the past, and we are proving it today as well. In addition, the IDF will continue to thwart threats against our forces and against our citizens.”

The Israeli PM also apparently stated that he will never accept a Palestinian state in Gaza or the West Bank.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 1, 252 people have been killed since the October 2025 ceasefire mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S.
