Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, has commended the progress recorded by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and spoke on the need to sustain its focus on the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
Ahmed, also known as Ajiyan Katagum, made the remarks when he paid a courtesy visit to the NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at Hajj House, Abuja.
According to a statement by Shafii Sani Mohammed, Head of Information and Publications, NAHCON, the former SGF expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him during the visit and offered guidance and encouragement on ways to further improve Hajj administration and service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress made by NAHCON under Ambassador Yusuf’s leadership, particularly the Chairman’s agenda, which he said places the welfare of pilgrims at the centre of the Commission’s activities.
Ahmed stressed that sustained attention to pilgrims’ needs was essential to improving their overall Hajj experience.
Responding, Ambassador Yusuf described the former SGF as a vital stakeholder whose wealth of administrative experience and insight remained valuable to the Hajj sector.
He thanked Ahmed for his continued guidance and interest in the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims, assuring him that NAHCON would continue to draw on the wisdom and experience of key stakeholders in its efforts to reform Hajj administration and improve service delivery.
