Smart powering: AEDC elevates customer experience with new ‘MyPower’ apps
Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc. (AEDC) has launched its new ‘MyPower’ Mobile and Web Apps, expanding its digital channels to give customers faster, easier access to electricity services.
Announced by AEDC Managing Director and CEO, Engr. Chijioke Okwuokenye, during Customer Service Week, reinforces the company’s commitment to digital transformation and customer-centric service.
Okwuokenye noted that the platforms bring essential transactions together into a single digital ecosystem.
“Customers can buy electricity tokens anytime and anywhere, pay their bills, report power outages and other service issues, and lodge and track complaints,” Okwuokenye said.
“Customers can also view their energy consumption, access bills and payment receipts, manage multiple accounts and meters, and update their personal information digitally,” he further said.
To enhance safety, the applications feature a staff verification tool designed to protect households from impostors.
“The staff verification feature also provides an additional layer of security during customer interactions.
“The apps will also allow customers to confirm the identity of AEDC personnel before granting them access to their premises,” Okwuokenye added.
The dual release gives users flexibility to interact with AEDC through either a mobile application or a standard web browser.
AEDC’s Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Blessing Ogbe, emphasised that the initiative reflects an ongoing effort to reshape how the utility company serves its base.
“We are building a culture where customer feedback informs how we design our processes, improve our channels and deliver our services.
“The apps reflect that approach, and we will continue to listen, learn and innovate to ensure that the experience we provide keeps pace with the expectations of the customers we serve,” Ogbe said.
AEDC plans to continuously update the platforms with new features to deliver greater value as its digital transformation progresses.
