Osun state Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Hon. George Ibitayo Alabi, on Thursday tasked Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the ideals of peace, unity, justice and development.

Hon George Alabi gave the task in a message to congratulate Nigerians on the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

The Commissioner emphasised the need for renewed patriotism, unity and collective commitment to the progress of Nigeria.

Hon George Alabi described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the journey of the nation, appreciate the sacrifices of its founding fathers and renew faith in the Nigerian project.

“Independence Day reminds us of our shared identity and our collective responsibility to build the Nigeria we desire”, he said.

The Commissioner added, “Despite the challenges before us, we must continue to believe in our country, support one another and contribute our quota towards a better future for generations yet unborn”.

Emphasising that the responsibility of building a stronger and more prosperous country rests on both government and citizens, Hon. Alabi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and programmes that promote sustainable development, responsible land administration and physical planning, while contributing to the overall growth and transformation of Osun state.

Commending the people of Osun state for their resilience, peaceful disposition and continued support for the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, he said good governance requires the collective participation of all stakeholders.

The Commissioner prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity across Nigeria, while wishing Nigerians at home and in the diaspora a happy 66th Independence Anniversary.
