The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lenders Consult, Dr. Shina Phillips, has commended Imo state Governor Hope Uzodimma for prioritising security.
Dr. Phillips, who was represented at CARSPO 2026 by Mr. Nelson Olafisoye, described the state’s repeated hosting of the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers as evidence of the governor’s commitment to security.
The Conference was held recently at Owerri, the state capital.
He noted that the 2026 edition marked the third time Imo has hosted the programme under three different Inspectors-General of Police, underscoring sustained government interest.
According to him, the development reflects Governor Uzodimma’s resolve to keep security as a major priority in the state.
Dr. Phillips also commended President Bola Tinubu, senior police officers and other stakeholders for their continued support for the CARSPO programme.
He said the programme was designed to encourage continuous deliberations on strengthening policing and addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
He urged participants to use the platform to exchange ideas capable of improving policing and strengthening security nationwide, and thanked organisers, participants and the press for their roles in the event.
