Cristiano Ronaldo faces six-month ban and huge fine after walking out on Portugal

Football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo could face severe disciplinary action, including a suspension ranging from one to six months and a substantial fine under Portuguese Football Federation (PFF) regulations, following his unauthorized departure from the national team’s training camp.
The friction boiled over after the veteran forward was left as an unused substitute during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion.
Following emergency talks involving manager Jorge Jesus and PFF leadership, Ronaldo took to social media on Wednesday evening to announce his exit from the squad, promising to eventually reveal “the truth” behind his sudden departure while wishing his teammates success for upcoming fixtures against Denmark and Norway.
Despite Jorge Jesus dismissing reports of a personal rift during a press conference and maintaining that tactical decisions rest solely with the coaching staff, the fallout has intensified.
Ronaldo’s sister, Elma Aveiro, voiced fierce criticism on social media, accusing the national team structure, sports media, and the public of disrespect and ingratitude.
In the wake of his exit, Rafael Leão has been assigned the iconic number seven shirt as Portugal prepares for their fixture in Copenhagen.
