The Action Peoples Party (APP) has recorded another electoral victory in Yobe State, with its candidate, Ibrahim Ummar, defeating the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to emerge victorious in the councillorship election for Gudugurka Ward in Fune Local Government Area of the state.

The victory, which further underscores the growing acceptance of the Action Peoples Party beyond its traditional areas of strength, has been described as a significant milestone in the party’s ongoing expansion across the country.

Reacting to the development, Action Peoples Party Chieftain and Representative for Ideato Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere congratulated Ibrahim Ummar on the historic victory and commended the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), Yobe State leadership, members and supporters for their commitment and hard work.

Ugochinyere said the victory was a clear demonstration that the APP is steadily becoming a truly national political platform with growing grassroots acceptance across different regions of Nigeria.

According to him, the latest victory in Yobe is particularly significant because it demonstrates that the APP is making inroads into states and communities outside its traditional political base.

He said: “I congratulate our candidate, Ibrahim Ummar, on this well-deserved victory in Gudugurka Ward, Fune LGA, Yobe State. I also commend our National Working Committee, the Yobe State leadership and all our members and supporters who worked tirelessly to deliver this important victory.”

Ugochinyere added: “The APP is gradually expanding across Nigeria. What we are witnessing today is the emergence of the big elephant party, a political movement that is taking root at the grassroots and steadily increasing its presence across the country.”

He said the party’s growing electoral strength was reflected in its expanding representation at different levels of government.

According to him, the APP currently has five members in the Federal House of Representatives, two members in State Houses of Assembly and five councillors, with the latest victory in Yobe further adding momentum to the party’s grassroots expansion.

The APP National Leader urged the party’s members to remain united, disciplined and focused on building a strong political organisation capable of winning more seats in future elections.

He assured Nigerians that the party would continue to provide a credible platform for citizens seeking effective representation and meaningful participation in democratic governance.

Ugochinyere congratulated the people of Gudugurka Ward and the people of Fune LGA, while calling on the newly elected councillor, Ibrahim Ummar, to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate through accountable, inclusive and people-oriented representation.
