Borno CAN commemorates 50-year existence with prayers
Christian Association of Nigeria, Borno state branch, Thursday said it organised special prayers for justice, peace, love, unity, forgiveness, mercy, healing, progress and development at the local, state and national level of the country.
At the event held at EYN Church of the Brethren in Nigeria with the theme: ‘Obey to Prosper,’ the Borno state chairman, Most Reverend John Bakeni, delivered sermon on situation and conditions of the nation lamenting on the level of abject poverty, hardships and sufferings bedeviling Nigerians.
He called on God for intervention in our economic sector as Nigerians are struggling to survive.
With another theme: ‘Common heritage, common health and unity,’ he said, celebrating 66 years of Nigerian Independence and CAN 50 years of existence are a mixed grill of difficulties, challenges and joy, giving Glory to God while appreciating despite all odds, urging people to continue to stay united and live peacefully.
“We are here today to praise the Lord, offer prayers and sing the name of God, to give thanks to God and appreciate God and Jesus Christ .
“How do we celebrate when our brothers and sisters are still in captivity, kidnapped, attacked and maimed. So, we have decided to pray to seek for intervention and protection from God,” Rev. John said.
