Kano man cuts off own finger after alleged N80m offer
A young man in Kano State has reportedly cut off one of his own fingers after allegedly being offered N80 million to provide a finger from a living person.
The incident was disclosed by the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command in a series of short posts on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the police spokesperson, the young man went to a police station and lodged a complaint, alleging that someone had offered him N80 million to provide a human finger.
The man reportedly said that after he could not find another person willing to provide the finger, he used a knife to cut off his own finger and handed it over to the person who allegedly made the offer.
He later complained to the police that the person had refused to pay him the promised N80 million.
The police subsequently arrested the alleged recipient of the body part, who is currently being detained at the Kano State Police Command headquarters in Bompai.
The suspect reportedly told investigators that he did not ask for a human finger, but rather the bone from the forearm of a living person.
The police are said to have recovered the severed finger, while an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the bizarre incident continues.
