The Nigerian media community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Chuks Nwanne, Editor of Guardian Newspaper Northern Region.

The sad news was confirmed on Friday by his colleague, Chris Nwandu, popularly known as CKN.

Nwanne was not just a newsroom leader. He was also widely known as the organiser of the famous Egbunike Cave Festival, a cultural showcase that projected Anambra’s tourism heritage.

In a short, emotional tribute that has since gone viral among journalists, Nwandu wrote: “Chuks Nwanne why nah? 😢 Editor Guardian Newspaper Northern Region, Organiser Egbunike Cave Festival. Na wa o.”

His words captured the shock sweeping through newsrooms — the suddenness of the death has left many colleagues asking questions.

As at press time, details surrounding the cause of his death remain sketchy, with colleagues still trying to come to terms with the loss.
