Lere Olayinka seeks prosecution of headmaster over video of pupils praying in tongues during school hours
Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has demanded the arrest and prosecution of a primary school headmaster after a viral video surfaced showing pupils being led through an intense deliverance service during school hours.
In the trending footage shared by Olayinka on his social media handle, primary school pupils are seen screaming, crying, and praying in tongues inside a classroom during an organised revival programme led by a visiting clergyman.
Reacting strongly to the incident, the FCT Ministerial Aide insisted that the school’s leadership must face legal consequences for permitting such activities on school grounds. Olayinka stated that the headmaster should be arrested and jailed for granting authorization for a religious revival programme to disrupt formal learning hours.
