2027 elections: Edo APC sets up diaspora campaign sub-committee

The Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its 2026/2027 Presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly Campaign Council, appointing Genesis Kelly Prince Udebhulu simply called Prince Kelly Udebhulu as Secretary of the Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee, with Mr. Frank Okoyo as Director.

The appointments were contained in a statement dated September 21, 2026, signed by the Edo APC Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, Esq.

The campaign council is chaired by Governor Monday Okpebholo as Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Council, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Jarrett Tenebe as Co-Chairmen, while Senator Matthew Urhoghide serves as Director-General.

The council features specialised committees responsible for administration, operations and logistics, finance, publicity and media, mobilisation, diaspora affairs, youths and students, women, traders, legal affairs, ICT and research, among others.

Udebhulu, an APC chieftain from Ward 8, Esan West Local Government Area, brings extensive experience in political communication, media, and diaspora engagement to the new assignment. He previously served as Director of Media, Communication, and National Orientation in the Edo APC 2024 Governorship Campaign Council.

He has also been actively involved in diaspora affairs, including coordinating Edo Central liaison activities (volunteer) under the Edo State Diaspora Agency. His contribution to the party’s 2024 governorship campaign was subsequently recognised with a Certificate of Recognition by the APC Edo Diaspora Chapter.

Okoyo, who heads the Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee, is also an experienced diaspora mobilisation figure. He served as Director of Diaspora Affairs in the 2024 Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council and currently serves as Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Diaspora Affairs.

The APC said the newly constituted campaign structures are designed to harness the experience, organisational capacity, and grassroots reach of party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across the state for effective coordination of campaign activities.

The appointments of Udebhulu and Okoyo therefore place two figures with established experience in diaspora engagement at the centre of the Edo APC’s diaspora campaign structure for the 2026/2027 electoral cycle.
