Prominent Nigerian Pastor speaks on allegations against him, church members

Nigerian-UK-based clergyman, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has responded to allegations repeatedly made against him and members of his church, SPAC Nation.

Adegboyega addressed the claims in a video shared online, explaining why he had largely chosen not to respond to his critics.

The pastor said he generally does not engage with allegations or claims that he considers unimportant, but decided to speak out after some of his friends became concerned about the issues being raised against him and the church.

Why Pastor Tobi decided to speak

Adegboyega said he did not initially see the need to respond to the allegations, describing them as matters he did not consider serious enough to warrant his attention.

“There is nothing to respond to. Like, this isn’t serious. But when something is serious, I will respond,” he said.

He said his decision to address the matter was also influenced by concerns expressed by people close to him over the allegations circulating online.

The clergyman maintained that he would respond when he considered an allegation sufficiently serious, rather than engage in every criticism directed at him or his church.

Pastor challenges accusers to report allegations

Adegboyega also questioned why people who accuse members of SPAC Nation of wrongdoing have continued to discuss the allegations online instead of reporting them to the appropriate authorities.

He challenged anyone who believes that an offence had been committed by anyone associated with the church to report the matter to the police or seek legal redress through the courts.

“If you say someone does something in SP*C Nation, guys, go to the police, court, or shut up,” he said.

The pastor said allegations of wrongdoing should be handled through the appropriate institutions rather than continued discussions on social media.

Adegboyega added that he would not oppose an investigation into any alleged wrongdoing involving a member of the church.

He said he would be pleased to see anyone found to have committed an offence face the appropriate consequences.

“I will be very happy to see someone who has done something wrong be dealt with,” he said.

His comments come amid continued online discussions concerning allegations involving the clergyman and members of SP*C Nation.
