We are building a culture of integrity, ethical conduct at NCPC – Adegbite

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to promoting ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of its mandate.

Bishop Adegbite stated this recently during a sensitisation workshop organised by the Commission’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

This was contained in a press statement released by the NCPC’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka.

According to the statement, the workshop, held at the NCPC Headquarters, Abuja was aimed at strengthening ethical standards and deepening staff understanding of corruption prevention.

Bishop Adegbite, represented by the Director of Administration, Mr. Abu Okpanachi, appreciated the ICPC team for its continued support and commitment to promoting integrity within public institutions.

He noted that the workshop provided an opportunity for staff to deepen their understanding of ethical conduct and their individual responsibilities in preventing corruption.

According to him, the Commission remains committed to strengthening its systems and practices in line with the principles of transparency, accountability and responsible service delivery.

“We are on the right path towards building a culture of integrity and ethical conduct. Achieving a corruption-free institution requires the collective commitment of every staff member,” he said.

He assured the ICPC team of the Commission’s willingness to collaborate and embrace initiatives aimed at preventing corruption and strengthening institutional accountability.

In his remarks, the Chairman of ICPC, Dr. Musa Aliyu, represented by the Director, System Studies and Review Department, Mr. Olusegun Adigun, commended the ACTU for its commitment to promoting transparency and accountability.

He acknowledged the efforts of the ACTU in advancing anti-corruption initiatives within the Commission and encouraged staff to sustain the momentum.

The workshop featured two paper presentations designed to equip participants with practical knowledge for promoting ethical conduct in the workplace.

The presentations reinforced the importance of personal integrity, vigilance and accountability as essential tools for creating an ethical and transparent work environment.
