A Muslim group, Al-Faedat Tijjaniyyah fil-Islam on Thursday, announced its support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2027 general elections.
The Muslim group at an emergency meeting in Ibadan also said it has
adopted Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli as their anointed candidate for the governorship seat of Oyo state in the 2027 general elections.
Coordinator of the movement in Oyo state, Alhaji Abdullateef Yeskuru Adewale, said the decision to adopt President Tinubu was based on his performance and personal attributes, which the standard bearers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) possess.
In his keynote address, Adewale noted that the sect arrived at the decision to endorse President Tinubu and all the APC candidates in the state for the 2027 poll following the conclusion of months of consultations among the leadership of the group within and outside the country.
“We have been approached by different individuals and parties for possible endorsement of their candidates but we knew we could not do anything without due consultation and divine guidance. So, what we are doing here today reflects the outcome of our consultations and prayers to Allah.
We are absolutely sure that President Tinubu is the best man to lead Nigeria till 2031 and we shall do everything as a group which comprises more than 200,000 voters in the state to deliver all the candidates of the APC.
