Man escapes mob action after packaging worn-out tyres to defraud POS operator

A young man narrowly escaped being lynched to death after he was caught attempting to defraud a Point of Sale (POS) operator using packaged old car tyres.
According to reports, the suspect arrived at the POS kiosk pretending to execute a cash withdrawal. After claiming that his electronic funds transfer failed to go through, he allegedly presented wrapped car tyres that he claimed were brand new. He requested that the operator accept the tyres as collateral and hand over the cash value, claiming he was in an extreme rush.
Suspicions were aroused during the negotiation, prompting surrounding neighbours and passersby to intervene. Upon inspecting the packages, the onlookers discovered that the tyres were completely worn out and damaged rather than new as claimed.
An angry crowd quickly gathered and apprehended the suspect. He was on the verge of being subjected to jungle justice before he was rescued from the scene.
