Nigerian man accuses Imo police officers of extortion
A Nigerian man, Chi Nedum, has accused some officers of the Imo state police command of extorting N15,000 from him.
Narrating what allegedly transpired, Chi Nedum said,
“My brother and I were allegedly extorted of ₦15,000 by three police officers in Owerri. My car developed a strange sound, so I parked by the corner and called a mechanic. While we were test-running the car to identify the problem, the officers entered our vehicle and accused us of parking wrongly. Despite explaining the situation, they demanded money from us, and we were forced to pay N15,000.
This is unfair and an abuse of power. Please tag the Nigerian police force and Owerri police command to fish out these bad eggs in our police force’
