Gunmen k!ll expatriate, two others working on road construction site in Kebbi
An expatriate and two security agents have been k!lled during an attack by unknown gunmen on the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway construction project in Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Bashir Usman, said the incident occurred at a construction site in Gubba Village, through Andarai District of Maiyama Local Government Area.
Usman said armed men suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists, allegedly encroaching from the Kebbe axis of neighbouring Sokoto, attacked the construction site, killing two security agents and the foreign national.
He said two civilians were also injured in the attack and subsequently evacuated for medical attention.
The police spokesperson added that, on the same day, another attack by the suspected terrorists along the Birnin Malam axis was successfully repelled by police teams.
He said joint security forces responded to the attacks, with tactical teams deployed to strengthen security and prevent further attacks.
