How Tinubu plunged Nigeria into total economic mess – Kwankwaso

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said President Bola Tinubu plunged Nigeria into a complete economic mess.

Kwankwaso said Tinubu’s decision to remove the subsidy on fuel during his inauguration ruined Nigeria’s economy.

Recall that Tinubu had declared an end to the fuel subsidy regime during his presidential inauguration in 2023 at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Speaking on Arise Television on Wednesday, Kwankwaso said Tinubu removed fuel subsidy without any cushioning effects.

“Bola Tinubu decided to remove the subsidy and the consequences we thought would happen certainly happened.

“He removed it immediately.without looking at all the possible issues. That is how we found ourselves in this total mess economically,” he said.

The former New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate insisted that Nigerians deserve to buy fuel at a cheaper price.
