Davido and Dangote

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared photos from his recent meeting with business mogul Aliko Dangote in New York, where the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ Initial Public Offering featured prominently on a Nasdaq digital billboard at Times Square.

Davido posted images of himself with Dangote and other personalities following their appearance at the iconic New York location, where the refinery’s IPO campaign received international visibility.

The singer shared the photos on Instagram on Thursday, reflecting on his conversation with Dangote and describing the billionaire businessman as someone who had answers to his questions.

“When two generations of Nigerian ambition meet, the conversation is worth listening to,” Davido wrote.

The meeting came days after Davido had joined Dangote at Times Square, where a digital billboard promoted the Nigerian refinery with the message, “Made in Nigeria. Built for the World.”

The singer also referenced his conversation with Dangote about the refinery’s public offer, which has attracted attention as the company moves towards broader public ownership.

Refinery IPO campaign takes centre stage

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ public offer opened on September 14, 2026, and is scheduled to close on October 13.

The offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at N525 per share, with investors required to subscribe to a minimum of 10 shares.

Davido’s latest post comes as the refinery continues its campaign to promote the public offer, with the Nasdaq billboard providing a high-profile backdrop for the campaign in one of New York’s most recognisable locations.

The singer previously shared a video showing himself and Dangote beneath the billboard displaying the refinery’s “Made in Nigeria. Built for the World” message.

The encounter has also drawn attention because of the public profiles of both men, with Davido representing Nigeria’s entertainment industry and Dangote one of the country’s most prominent businessmen.

Davido’s latest images showed the singer and Dangote together during their New York engagement, alongside other people who attended the event.

The singer’s comments focused on the exchange between the two Nigerians and the conversation surrounding ambition, business and the refinery’s public offer.

The Dangote refinery, located in Lagos, has become a major part of the country’s petroleum industry, while the public offer represents another stage in the company’s corporate and investment activities.

Davido’s posts have since brought additional social media attention to the refinery’s New York campaign and his interaction with Dangote.
