Shari’a Court Remands 3 Over Killing Of Kano Influencer

An Upper Shari’a Court in Kano on Thursday ordered that three men be remanded in a correctional centre over the alleged killing of social media influencer, Ibrahim Khalil-Danshagamu.

The defendants, Aliyu Adamu, Salihu Haruna and Sani Muhammad, are facing a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The prosecution counsel, Nafiu Kabiru, told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences on September 8, 2026, at Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

He said the defendants allegedly trespassed into Danshagamu’s residence at about 11:30 p.m. on the same day and attacked him with a sharp knife.

Kabiru said Danshagamu was rushed to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, where a doctor confirmed him dead.

The defendants, however, denied committing the offence.

According to the prosecutor, the alleged offences contravene Sections 120 and 143 of the Kano State Sharia Law.

The presiding judge, Malam Ibrahim Sarki-Yola, ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional centre.

He adjourned the case until November 17 for continuation of the hearing.
