Arizona Congressional Candidate says she was r@ped while campaigning

Bernadette Greene-Placentia, the US Democratic candidate for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, has alleged that she was r@ped while repairing a damaged campaign sign in a parking lot in Sun City.
Speaking to the Phoenix New Times, Greene-Placentia said the attack occurred at about 2 a.m. on August 14 in the retirement community northwest of Phoenix.
She alleged that she was struck in the head and briefly lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness, she said a man was on top of her, s3xually assaulting her. Greene-Placentia said the man called her a “bitch” and told her she was “not a very good f***.” She alleged that a second man approached and attempted to force her legs farther apart. She said she kicked at him, prompting him to respond: “Not even worth it.”
According to her account, the men left her face down in the parking lot. She drove herself home but said she remembered little of what happened afterward. “It’s just these little tiny flashes of things that I do remember,” she told the newspaper. “As much as I don’t want to remember, I’ve tried very, very hard to remember more stuff. But that’s where I’m at.”
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Greene-Placentia filed a report on August 31 and said the investigation remained ongoing. Greene-Placentia said she initially felt embarrassed and wanted to forget the alleged assault. She decided to speak publicly because supporting s3xual assault survivors is a focus of her campaign.
