ADC inaugurates Zamfara campaign committee
Thousands of supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday gathered at Freedom Square, Gusau, Zamfara state, for the inauguration of the party’s campaign committee ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s senatorial candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Sale, called on voters to support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for President and the party’s governorship candidate in Zamfara State, Alhaji Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, alongside other ADC candidates.
Sale, who holds the traditional titles of Baraden Maru and Turakin Ruwan Dorowa, said an ADC administration would prioritise security, address economic hardship, reduce fuel prices, and tackle corruption.
He urged party supporters to mobilise voters for all ADC candidates contesting national and state legislative seats, arguing that their election would help facilitate policies and legislation aimed at improving the lives of residents.
Sale described Shinkafi as a patient leader who, he said, would work towards improving security and transforming the state if elected governor.
He also appealed to voters to protect their votes and reject vote buying during the elections.
Speaking with our correspondent, an ADC supporter, Mallam Sulaiman Ibrahim Maradun, said party members had been mobilising supporters to secure victory for the party’s candidates.
Similarly, Aishatu Salisu Anka said women in Zamfara state were prepared to mobilise more women across the zone to support the party.
Another supporter, Mallam Ibrahim Sale, said party members would work to protect their votes. He also urged women to reject the ruling party, which he accused of failing to serve the state’s interests.
The inauguration attracted ADC stakeholders, candidates from across the zone, and thousands of male and female supporters.
