The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nasarawa state said it would display the preliminary voter register for new registrants across the 147 electoral wards of the state ahead the 2027 general elections.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Mohammed Abubakar, stated this at a press conference on Wednesday in Lafia.
Abubakar, who was represented by the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, Mr Ajuh Jacob, said the exercise was in line with the provisions of Section 19 (1) of the Electoral Act 2026 (as amended).
He noted that the Act mandated the Commission to display the register not less than 90 days before the general elections.
According to him, the preliminary register would be displayed in all 147 electoral wards from October 9th to October 15th, for claims, objections and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He urged registered voters to take advantage of the window to cross-check their details, including names, photographs, date of birth and polling units.
The REC explained that after the seven-day display, voters can visit INEC offices at the headquarters of the 13 local government areas of the state for collection of their PVCs.
