The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Zamfara state, Mallam Muhammad Lawan Ahmad, has appealed to the Zamfara State Government to upgrade the temporary orientation camp facilities at the UBEC Training Centre, Gusau.
The coordinator made the appeal on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Corps Members deployed to the state.
He said the number of Corps Members deployed to Zamfara for the NYSC programme has increased significantly.
According to him, a bigger venue within the state capital will ease the challenges faced during orientation exercises.
“We appeal to Zamfara state government to consider providing the NYSC Scheme with a larger venue for hosting Orientation Course activities in the State.” He said
In his address, Governor Dauda Lawal welcomed the Corps Members to Zamfara State and urged them to regard the state as their second home.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Kashimu Sani Kaura, encouraged them to approach their assignments with an open mind.
Governor Lawal assured the NYSC management in the state of his administration’s continued support.
Blueprint reports that 800 Corps members have administered oath of allegiance during the event.
