School proprietor arrested for allegedly def!ling 9-year-old pupil in Plateau
The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old school proprietor, Ahmad Bello, for allegedly def!ling a 9-year-old girl in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayodeji Faniyan disclosed this during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Jos on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Parading Bello alongside 22 other suspects, Faniyan said the suspect allegedly called the victim into his office and s3xually assaulted her.
According to the CP, the victim further revealed that Bello gave her herbal medicine after the act.
“On 22nd August 2026 at about 12:30am, we received a report from a citizen of the State, reporting that her nine (9) year old daughter narrated to her how she was s3xually abused by one Ahmed Bello, male 40 years old, the proprietor of her school,” the statement read.“The minor alleged that while returning to her class after receiving medication at the School’s First Aid Office, the proprietor called her into his office where he s3xually assaulted her.“She further revealed that he gave her herbal medicine and instructed her to leave.“Upon receipt of the report, the victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical examination, while the suspect has been arrested and is currently undergoing investigation.“Upon conclusion of our investigation, the suspect will be charged to Court for prosecution.”
