Northern Senators rejoice with New Emir of Gumel

Serving Senators from the North Saturday rejoiced with the new Emir of Gumel, His Royal Highness , Lawan Ahmed Mohammed on his appointment and ascension on to the throne of his fore fathers.

The Senators in a statement signed by their Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua (Katsina Central) , congratulated the government and people of Jigawa State on the emergence of the new Emir just as they commiserated with the people of Gumel Emirate over the passing of the late Emir, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, whose 45-year reign was marked by service, peace, and devotion.

The statement reads, “The Northern Senators Forum warmly welcomes the appointment and ascension of His Royal Highness, Lawan Ahmed Mohammed, PhD, as the 17th Emir of Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State, and extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Jigawa state

“We have absolute confidence in the new Emir’s ability to lead the Gumel Emirate. His academic accomplishments, practical expertise, and years of service have prepared him for the responsibilities of the revered throne.

“²With a sterling education that includes a PhD in Computer and Communication Systems His Royal Highness’s background in mathematics, computing, engineering and cybersecurity will enable him to promote education, youth development, innovation, and sustainable growth.

“The Northern Senators Forum assures His Royal Highness of its continued prayers, support, and constructive engagement.
