The Ghanaian police has reacted to the viral domestic violence videos involving popular actress Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Norman.,

Presenting the facts of the matter, the police said on August 20th, 2026, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), received a petition from the actress alleging that her husband had subjected her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.

The police say preliminary investigations revealed that a case involving the couple had previously been handled by the Domestic V!olence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July 2026. It stated that following receipt of the petition, the suspect, Harold Norman, was arrested on August 27 at his residence to assist with investigations. A caution statement was subsequently obtained from him, and on August 29, he was granted a Police enquiry bail with two sureties while investigation continued.

The police say Harold was due to be appear in court today but his lawyer claimed he had been admitted at the hospital and was therefore unable to appear before the court as had been scheduled.

Investigators visited the said hospital to verify the claim and are monitoring the situation to ensure he is arraigned immediately upon discharge from the hospital.

The police say its Criminal Investigation Department is working with the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure the provision of social welfare services for the victim and the children.
