The Enugu State House of Assembly has dissolved its Committee on Health over alleged gross misconduct and highhandedness.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Uche Ugwu, announced the dissolution of the committee on Tuesday during its plenary.
The affected members were Hon. Okechukwu Aneke (Udi South), Hon. Harrison Ogara (Igbo-Eze South), Hon. Osita Okoh (Enugu East Urban) and Hon Anthony Nwankwo (Awgu South).
According to Ugwu, the dissolution became necessary following the unruly behaviour exhibited by the committee chairman, Aneke at the last executive session on September 21, 2026.
The Speaker also accused Aneke of alleged high-handedness in the running of the committee.
Ugwu set up a five-man ad-hoc disciplinary committee headed by Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, to investigate the matter and report back to the Assembly in two weeks.
The House also received a report on the annual accounts of the Enugu state for the year that ended 31st December, 2025.
