“I wonder how Nigerians survive on a ₦100,000 monthly salary” — Nigerian man serving in US Army asks

A Nigerian man serving in the US Army has questioned how Nigerians earning ₦100,000 monthly manage to survive amid the rising cost of living.
Speaking during a video, he said he often asks people about their earnings and is surprised that some Nigerians support families on relatively low incomes despite the rising prices of food, fuel and other essentials.
He noted that with the minimum wage at ₦100,000, he finds it difficult to understand how workers are able to cover their monthly expenses.
“Sometimes when I do my livestream, I ask people questions, you know, how much do you earn and stuff, they will say like ₦800,000. And sometimes these people have families, like two kids, three kids,” he said.
He added that Nigerians are paid monthly, unlike in the US where workers may receive their salaries more frequently, and asked Nigerians to explain how people earning ₦100,000 manage to survive each month.
