MAN, CITN endorse Nigeria Mining Tax Summit, nominate resource persons
The Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) have endorsed the Nigeria Mining Tax Summit scheduled to hold in Abuja in November.
MAN formally accepted its invitation to participate in the summit and pledged its support, while CITN confirmed its participation and nominated two tax professionals as resource persons.
The summit is organised by The Miners magazine, Secom Limited and Lambard Consulting to bring mining industry stakeholders together to discuss Nigeria’s fiscal and tax framework and its implications for mining operations, investment and government revenue.
In a letter dated September 16, signed by its national president, Dele Ayanleke, MAN said it had accepted the invitation and endorsed the summit.
“Your initiative to bring critical fiscal conversations to the forefront of the mining sector is both timely and essential for driving sustainable economic growth,” Mr Ayanleke said.
The association said it would contribute its expertise, participate in panel discussions and engage with other stakeholders during the summit.
MAN also requested regular updates on the agenda and logistical arrangements and said it would work with the organisers towards achieving the objectives of the event.
CITN confirmed its participation in a letter dated September 4, signed by its Registrar and chief executive Afolake Oso, FCTI.
The institute nominated Azeez Alatoye, FCTI, as keynote speaker and Wahab Omoniyi, FCTI, as a panelist.
Alatoye is expected to deliver the lead paper titled “Aligning Mining Operations with Current Tax Laws,” while Omoniyi will participate in the panel discussions.
The Nigeria Mining Tax Summit is scheduled to hold from November 11 to 13, 2026, in Abuja.
