The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the graduation of 44 students with First-Class Honours for the 2025/2026 academic session, even as it ordered the withdrawal of 56 students and expelled one over gross examination misconduct.

In a statement issued by the director Public Affairs of the institution, Uredo Omale, Sunday said the decisions were reached at the institution’s 168th Regular Senate Meeting held Wednesday, following the consideration of second semester examination results across faculties and departments.

According to the statement, the breakdown of the Senate’s resolution shows that the 56 affected students were withdrawn for poor academic performance, failure to register for two consecutive semesters, and other academic deficiencies in line with the university’s regulations.

“Out of the number, 11 students were withdrawn due to poor academic performance, while a larger number failed to meet registration requirements over consecutive semesters. Seven others were withdrawn on account of failed modules and course deficiencies” the statement said.

In a related development, the Senate approved the expulsion of a student, Jude Ojoajogwu Itodo of the Department of Plant Sciences and Biotechnology, for gross examination misconduct after considering the report of the Examination Misconduct Committee.
