2027 Delta governorship election: NYCN backs Eshor

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Saturday in Abuja threw its weight behind the governorship aspiration of Engr Isaac Eshor, a marine engineer for Delta Government House, 2027.
At a press conference hosted by the body with the governorship aspirant in attendance in Abuja, the group noted that its endorsement of Engr Eshor was on the fact that he is a youth-friendly person who believes that any situation that concerns the nation affects the youth; therefore, the group is concerned about who occupies the position.
In his remarks, the national president of NYCN, Comrade Isah Babangida Onimisi said for Delta, “We are here to present the product that has identified with the youths. We are representing a new realm of leadership capable of turning the ideals of our youths into productive use.
“Our endorsement is based on the careful record of the man committed to the people of Delta and Nigeria. We need a governor who understands how systems work and how employments are created. We need a leadership that creates a pathway for leaders of tomorrow; therefore, I call on Delta youths to join hands together and support a man who understands technical experience and the enterprise directly connected to Delta state.”
He was of the opinion that the involvement of NYCN in the governorship ambition of the aspirant is not for any pecuniary gain.
On his part, the governorship candidate, Engr Eshor said as a trained marine engineer, he was passionate about turning the relative advantage of the state into productive gains.
According to him, “In the course of my career, I have trained over 200 marine pilots and engineers. We want to make Delta a marine hall and marine economy because of the advantage our state has in marine. Under my watch, allocations to the state shall not be wasted on godfathers who milk the state dry. The current administration has failed the people by reducing many Deltans into poverty, a situation that has been unknown in the history of the state.”
Engr Eshor is contesting the 2027 Delta gubernatorial election on the platform of Action African Congress (AAC).
He attended the press briefing alongside other national executive members of the party.
NYCN was represented at the briefing by members from various zones of the country, beside the national leadership led by Comrade Onimisi.
