2027: APM presidential candidate Makinde vows to tackle Nigeria’s insecurity

Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate and Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde, has vowed to tackle Nigeria’s insecurity and challenges confronting the nation.

Makinde gave the assurance on Monday, while addressing stakeholders of the party during the North Central Town Hall engagement meeting and office flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign in Lafia.

He said when given opportunity, he would reset the country and give Nigeria a new security architecture, new path for education, and reset economy.

“So we can reset this country. Reset and give Nigeria a new security architecture. Reset and give Nigeria a new path for education. Reset our economy, utilizing data science and logic, and reset our socio-political environment in four years.

He blamed the current administration under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for poor economy policy and implementation which had rendered Nigerians into untold hardship.

Makinde said he would run a transitional government of national unity that would culminate in new players and new agenda for Nigeria’s sustainable development.

“I have the energy to govern Nigeria effectively, I will reset economy, the impact will be felt by the people of Nigeria. Nigeria needs people with sincere hearts and determination. I called on the people of Nigeria to vote for APM,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the party, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, declared that the party could no longer be taken for granted, as Nigerians were now joining in droves ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dantalle said the 2027 election would not be about party labels but about rescuing Nigeria from hunger and underdevelopment.
