Zamfara at 30: My interest is development of Zamfara- Matawalle
The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has felicitated with the people of Zamfara state on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.
He added that his priority remains the continued development of the state.
Matawalle stated this in a statement marking Zamfara’s 30th Anniversary and Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, issued in Gusau Thursday and signed by the publicity secretary of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee (MPSC), Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau.
The minister commended the first Military Administrator of the state, Col. Jibril Bala Yakubu (Rtd) and other former civilian governors for their various contributions to the state at different times.
He also thanked the former head of state, late Gen. Sani Abacha, for creating the state in 1996. He prayed that his soul rests in eternal peace.
“I want to use this opportunity to felicitate with the good people of Zamfara state for the 30th anniversary of the creation of Zamfara state.
“This is the right time to review development and the challenges of the state in 30 years since its creation and also to build peaceful coexistence, togetherness, unity and progress,” Matawalle said.
He commended the elders and all stakeholders who worked for the creation of the state and reiterated his commitment to continue to work towards the development of the state.
He assured the present administration in the state under Governor Dauda Lawal of his continued cordial working relationship.
