Zamfara ADC governorship candidate Shinkafi makes security top priority

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Zamfara state, Hon. Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, has said securing lives and property will be his administration’s top priority if elected in 2027.
Shinkafi made the declaration Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting of the party held in Kaduna.
He added that insecurity in Zamfara requires a collective approach and cannot be left to government alone.
“Security is a collective responsibility. I will use every available mechanism by engaging all stakeholders to contain the issue of insecurity if elected as governor of Zamfara state under the platform of ADC,” he said.
The governorship hopeful added that his government would prioritise community engagement, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with traditional rulers, security agencies, and civil society groups to address the lingering crisis in the state.
Speaking on the 2027 general election, Shinkafi expressed confidence that the ADC presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, would secure strong support in the North-west.
“We are targeting and we will deliver 40 percent of the votes in the North-west for our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, under the ADC in the forthcoming general election,” he said.
Shinkafi thanked members and supporters of the ADC in Zamfara for their unwavering support, which led to his emergence as the party’s substantive governorship candidate.
