Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations at the State House, Mr. Peter Onwubuariri, has died in Kano after a protracted illness.
The remains of late Onwubuariri departed Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, Tuesday for burial in Owerri, Imo state.
Onwubuariri, an astute journalist, passed on after a month of treatment at the Kano Cancer Hospital under the state government treatment authorisation.
The late staff of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) died at the age of 48. Mrs Onwubuariri Catherine Ezinna, the wife confirmed.
Late Onwubuariri’s corpse has been handed over to Oche Echeija Egwa, a Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations, State House, stated this on behalf of Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesperson.
The corpse was handed over at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf has extended condolences to the president and presidential media unit over the loss of Mr. Onwubuariri.
