US Second Lady Usha Vance nearly falls with baby while getting off helicopter

US Second Lady Usha Vance briefly lost her footing while stepping off a helicopter on Monday, October 5, with her baby, Alec, secured to her body, according to footage aired by C-SPAN.

Vance appeared to stumble near the bottom of the aircraft’s steps but regained her balance and continued walking without falling. Vice President JD Vance emerged moments later and descended the same steps with their daughter, Mirabel, without incident.

The couple welcomed Alec Neel Vance in July, according to TMZ. He is their fourth child, joining older siblings Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel. Alec was the first baby born to a sitting U.S. vice president in more than 150 years.
