Ex-‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn sentenced to life in prison over murder of his wife

Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn is set to be sentenced after a jury found him guilty of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, according to TMZ. Flynn faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. TMZ said it would stream the sentencing hearing live.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Flynn shot Ashley twice in the back of the head and staged the scene to make it appear that a break-in had occurred. They also alleged that Flynn was having an affair and had sent his mistress a text message the night before the killing that read: “I choose you. I’m free. Actions will come tomorrow.”
Flynn broke down in tears when the jury returned its guilty verdict. Members of Ashley’s family cried, smiled and embraced one another. The charges against Flynn included aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
