‘Profile Codes, CAPS, Others,’ JAMB Resolves Over 5,000 Complaints In Five Days

The new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has resolved more than 5,000 pending complaints within five days as part of efforts to improve service delivery to candidates and other stakeholders.

Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, who made this known in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said Aina personally relocated to the Board’s SERVICOM Unit to gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by candidates and facilitate their prompt resolution.

According to Benjamin, the move aligns with the Registrar’s “Five Enduring Pillars,” particularly the second pillar, “Service at Heart,” which focuses on delivering efficient services commensurate with the fees paid by candidates.

Aina also directed SERVICOM Desk Officers to handle complaints holistically and promptly.

“The passion attached to this may not be unconnected to the second item on his agenda termed Five Enduring Pillars, which is Service at Heart along with his determination to leveraging strategic communications towards repositioning the Board and delivering service commensurate with fees paid,” Benjamin stated.

The JAMB spokesperson revealed that the resolved cases covered a wide range of issues, including difficulties creating profile codes, biometric verification failures, challenges with the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), lost phones and SIM cards, conversion from Direct Entry (DE) to UTME, and omission from the National Matriculation List.

Other complaints addressed included payment and e-PIN issues, inappropriate examination venues, technical challenges, document uploads, and requests involving changes of name, date of birth, state and local government of origin.

Benjamin further noted that the initiative underscores the commitment of the new Registrar of JAMB to making efficient and responsive service delivery a central part of the Board’s operations.
