Pro-Tinubu group inaugurates Osun executive, sets 250,000 youth membership target
A support group advocating for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, CityBoy Movement, has inaugurated Osun state executives with a mandate to register 250,000 youth over the next 30 days.
In his address at the inauguration of state executives and local government coordinators, in Osogbo, the Osun state coordinator of the group, Kayode Sowade, Monday hinged the necessity of the target on the opportunity given to the youths by the administration of Tinubu.
He said: “It is an ambitious target, and we must approach it with seriousness. Every coordinator must understand the assignment ahead, and every local government structure must be active. We must remain organised in reaching out to people, documenting registrations, and reporting progress.”
Sowade enjoined the newly inaugurated local government executives to engage directly with young people in their communities, listen to their concerns, and educate them on administration policies and opportunities designed to empower youth.
Highlighting the president’s key policy milestones, Sowade cited the increase in FAAC, which he said has enabled states to receive nearly triple their previous allocations.
He added that youth inclusion and opportunity remain central pillars of the administration’s national agenda.
Speaking earlier, the patron of the movement, Femi Oyetola, asserted that Osun state has benefited significantly from President Tinubu’s leadership, particularly through infrastructure projects.
He referenced appointments such as Professor Segun Aina as the youngest registrar in the history of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as clear indicators of the administration’s commitment to young leaders.
“This is not merely a political gathering; it is a call to responsibility. I urge every member of the CityBoy Movement to return to their communities and mobilize effectively,” Oyetola said.
The Olu of Ileogbo, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, praised the administration’s road construction projects in the South-west, stating that the region has rarely witnessed development on such a scale.
