Obasanjo to Chair Book Launch on Unexplained Wealth in Nigeria

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has accepted an invitation to chair the public presentation of Unexplained Wealth in Nigeria, a three‑volume book authored by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Wahab Kunle Shittu.
The event is scheduled for September 28, 2026, in Lagos. In a letter dated August 26, Obasanjo commended Shittu for producing what he described as a “monumental and highly relevant scholarly work” that examines the complexities of unexplained wealth and its implications for transparency, the rule of law, and institutional reform.
“Documenting the complexities surrounding unexplained wealth in Nigeria in a three‑volume trilogy is a reflection of your profound commitment to transparency, the rule of law, and institutional reform,” Obasanjo wrote.
He expressed his willingness to join other stakeholders in discussing the themes raised in the publication, noting that literature of such depth is critical to diagnosing and addressing Nigeria’s socio‑economic and anti‑corruption challenges.
The book presentation is expected to generate meaningful dialogue on transparency, institutional accountability, and Nigeria’s anti‑corruption framework.
