Former NFL player Alphonso Smith Jr. dies by su!cide in Florida after cryptic final post
Former NFL cornerback Alphonso Smith Jr. has died by su!cide in Florida after sharing a disturbing final post on social media.
Smith, who played in the NFL, appeared to address his struggles and apologise to his family, friends and people he believed he had hurt in the lengthy post.
“Do not cry for me! I tried everything in my power to fight the demons,” he wrote.
He also apologised directly to his children, writing, “To my kids, daddy is SO SORRY!”
Smith went on to disclose that he had experienced something as a child involving an older woman and claimed that it later influenced his own actions toward others.
“To my family… things happened to your boy, your brother while I was little that an older lady did onto me. As a result guys, I did the same onto others,” he wrote.
He repeatedly asked those he had affected to forgive him and urged people to pray for their families.
“I am the WORST & I pray my soul rest in heaven for my heart is pure, but my BRAIN & experience is MESSED UP!!” he wrote.
The former footballer ended the post by apologising again and writing, “THIS IS IT.”
Smith’s d£ath has left those who knew him mourning, as details surrounding the circumstances of his death continue to emerge.
