Military air crash: PSNAFSA mourns NAF personnel, other victims
A non-governmental organisation, the Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of officers, schoolchildren and other victims in the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash.
This was contained in a statement by Convener on of PSNAFSA Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile and made available to journalists.
The
The group commiserated with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Nigerian Air Force, the families, colleagues and loved ones of the personnel who lost their lives in the incident, as well as the families of all other victims.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the crash, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the risks faced by personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities,” they said.
PSNAFSA also acknowledged the efforts of Nigerian Air Force personnel and other responders who worked to avert the tragedy and manage its aftermath, noting that the incident underscores the courage and sacrifices routinely made by those serving the nation.
“The loss is not only a devastating blow to the Nigerian Air Force but also a profound tragedy for the families, colleagues, friends and communities of those who died,” the group said.
They called for a sustained and improved support for the Armed Forces and other security agencies, particularly in the areas of intelligence, operational equipment, logistics, communications, aviation safety and personnel welfare.
They urged relevant authorities to continue strengthen the capacity of the nation’s security agencies by providing them with appropriate platforms, equipment and other resources required to carry out their duties safely and effectively.
“At PSNAFSA, we believe that supporting those who protect the nation is a collective responsibility. The men and women of our security agencies cannot be left to confront increasingly complex threats without the necessary institutional, operational and public support,” they said.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies, while promoting stronger public confidence, understanding and constructive partnerships between security personnel and the communities they serve.
