Man st@bs rival to d3ath over girlfriend

Police in Mzuzu, Malawi, have arrested a 30-year-old man, Elias Chisale, for allegedly st@bbing a 23-year-old man, Aaron Odeni to d3ath over a woman they were both dating.

According to the Assistant Public Relations Officer of Mzuzu Police Station, Edson Chipeni, the incident happened on September 13, 2026 at Malivenji Trading Centre.

“Odeni was in a relationship with a certain girl from the same area. On the material day, he was chatting with his girlfriend in an unfinished house when Chisale, who claimed to be romantically involved with the girl, arrived,” Chipeni said in a statement on Tuesday, September 15.

‎”An argument broke out between the two men. Chisale is alleged to have st@bbed Odeni in the stomach and he d!ed on the spot.

“He also st@bbed the girl. She sustained injuries in the process and is currently admitted at Mzuzu Central Hospital where she is receiving treatment.”

‎According to Chipeni, police received information about the incident, and launched investigation, leading to the arrest of Chisale.

The suspect will appear in court soon to answer two charges, including m8rder and acts intended to cause grievous harm.
