Lagos Seals Fake Alcohol Factory, Arrests 48-Year-Old

The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce adulterated alcoholic drinks in Badagry and arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with the operation.

The suspect, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was arrested at Yafin, Badagry, where the suspected factory was located, following credible intelligence received from members of the public.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi, operatives reportedly recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various production utensils suspected to have been used to produce and package the drinks.

“During the operation, the operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various production utensils suspected to have been used in the production and packaging of the drinks,” the statement said.

The factory was subsequently sealed, while the suspect was taken into police custody and the recovered items moved to the station for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to the information.

Fatai reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against criminal activities across the state and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to the police.
