The management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo state, weekend cancelled the MCB 414 examination written by students of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, after they allegedly violated the university’s directive banning wild jubilation following examinations.
The affected students had taken the MCB 414 (Anti-Microbial Agents and Chemotherapy) examination on Friday, September 18, 2026, after which the university said they engaged in wild jubilation despite an earlier warning against the practice.
The university management announced the cancellation in a press release signed by its registrar, Mrs. Oluwayomi O. Agbebaku.
The university said the students were reminded of the prohibition before the examination but went ahead to flout the directive after completing the paper.
“Accordingly, the University Management has decided that the examination be cancelled,” the statement said.
Management added that the action was intended to serve as a deterrent, warning that stiffer penalties would be imposed on any other department that violates the directive in future.
