Driver challenges man said to be a police officer for driving against traffic in Lagos (video)

Drama played out on a road in Lagos State recently after  a driver identified as Kolamide, blocked another driver reported to be a police officer for driving against traffic.

In the video which has gone viral on social media, Kolamide can be seen using his  car to stop a Toyota Sienna that was driving the wrong way down the road. Refusing to back down, he challenged the driver and insisted that the vehicle turn around and use the correct side of the road.

However, after angry reactions from people nearby and a long standoff, the law-breaking driver finally gave up, turned around, and drove away.

The video has divided Nigerians online. Many praised Kolamide’s courage, thanking him for standing up for the law and fighting lawlessness. However, several onlookers and commenters mocked him. In the clip, one woman loudly called him a “jobless man” for blocking the traffic offender. Other angry drivers even hit Kolamide’s car, demanding that he move out of the way

The standoff happened right in front of a police station, but interestingly, no police officers came out to help during the whole incident.
