Domestic equities sustain growth profile, gain N297bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange sustained a growth trajectory, appreciating by N297 billion as bulls dominated trading for the day.
Market capitalization of listed equities increased by 0.18 per cent to N162.682 trillion from N162.385 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 457.86 basis points to 250614.56 points from 250156.80 reported on Monday.
Volume of trades up by 193.06 million, representing 33.62 per cent as investors traded 767.250 million against 574.19 million recorded the previous day. Value of transactions rose by 20.33 per cent to close at N45.80 billion.
The market breadth was positive with 36 advancers against 26 decliners, bringing year to date return to 60.95 per cent.
An analysis of the trading during the day showed that Sovereign Trust Insurance led gainers table with 9.95 per cent to close at N2.21 per unit, CMFC followed with a gain of 9.82 per cent to close at N2.46 per share, Neimeth International pharmaceutical company added 8.90 per cent to close at N7.95 per share, Cadbury Nigeria Plc gained 8.29 per cent to close at N60.10 per unit while FTG Insurance grew by 7.73 per cent to close at N1.95 per share.
On the contrary, Multiverse topped losers chart, dropping by 9.86 per cent to close at N19.20 per unit, HMCall trailed with a loss of 9.39 per cent to close at N2.99 per share, Champion Breweries declined by 8.68 per cent to close at N10.00, Mutual Benefits dipped by 8.38 per cent to close at N3.50 per unit, Mansard dropped by 6.67 per cent to close at N11.20 per share.
Further analysis showed that Transactions in the shares of Fidelity Bank led market activities with 165.433 million shares valued at N3.292 billion, Zenith Bank followed with a gain of 105.654 million shares worth N13.729 billion, Chams Plc traded 71.827 million shares worth N240.577 million, Access Holdings Company traded 62.425 million shares cost N1.855 billion while Sterling Holding Company exchanged 55.556 million shares valued at N421.167 million.
